Diese seltene, vollfarbige Karte des Stadtzentrums von Edinburgh wurde von W.B. Clark gezeichnet und 1834 von Baldwin und Cradock veröffentlicht. Sie bietet eine faszinierende Momentaufnahme der schottischen Hauptstadt vor fast zwei Jahrhunderten und zeigt die Stadt genau zu der Zeit, als ihre berühmtesten Straßen Gestalt annahmen.

Bemerkenswerterweise hat sich das Zentrum von Edinburgh in den Jahren seitdem nur sehr wenig verändert – die Queen Street, die George Street und die Princes Street sind alle klar erkennbar angelegt, während Calton Hill und Arthur's Seat genau dort liegen, wo sie auch heute noch zu finden sind. Das Water of Leith ist blau eingezeichnet, während es sich durch die Karte schlängelt, und ein detaillierter kleiner Stich von Edinburgh Castle befindet sich an einer Seite. Ein schönes Detail für Geschichtsliebhaber ist, dass die Karte auch Straßen und Gebäude verzeichnet, die zwar geplant, aber noch nicht gebaut waren, einschließlich des Gebiets, in dem später der Bahnhof Edinburgh Waverley stehen würde.
