This finely detailed map of Scotland was published in 1851 by John Tallis, one of the most prolific and skilled mapmakers of the Victorian period. It captures the whole of Scotland in one sweeping view, from the Shetland Isles and Orkney down through the Hebrides to the Borders. The map is bordered with decorative engravings depicting Scottish life and landmarks, including a view of Edinburgh, deer stalking in the Highlands, and Scott's Monument.

Almost every Scottish town and city of note appears here, hand-coloured by county in the classic Victorian style - Inverness, Dundee, Aberdeen, Dumfries, Portree and more, alongside natural landmarks like Loch Ness, Loch Lomond, the Firth of Forth and the Mull of Kintyre. All of the historic counties are outlined too, from Aberdeenshire and Argyll through to Sutherland and the Northern Isles, making it a wonderful way to trace exactly where your family roots or favourite corners of Scotland lie.

Whether it's for a birthday, Christmas or a housewarming, this map makes a thoughtful gift for anyone from Scotland, or anyone who simply carries the Highlands, glens and lochs close to their heart.
