This full colour map shows "The Kingdome of Scotland" as it appeared in 1611. It was created by John Speed, one of Britain's most celebrated cartographers, based on an earlier map by Mercator and engraved by Jodocus Hondius for Speed's "The Theatre of the Empire of Great Britaine."

An inset in the top right shows the Orkney Islands, while further insets depict King James of Great Britain, France and Ireland, Queen Anne, and Prince Henry. Many towns and villages across Scotland are already visible, along with the Shetland Isles, the Hebrides, Skye, Loch Ness, Loch Lomond and the Mull of Kintyre.

This would make a wonderful gift for a proud Scot or anyone with a connection to Scotland.
